Kamala Nehru Park, Mumbai


Kamala Nehru Park is part of the Hanging Gardens complex in Mumbai. 
It's a must visit for those visiting Mumbai. Located at Malabar Hill in Mumbai.

The garden has views of the Marine drive below - also known as Queen's necklace












 and the viewing gallery

 will let one have a closer 











view of it.
Children's main attraction at the garden

is the shoe structure which is
inspired by the nursery rhyme There was an Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe.












Visitors can also see

Mumbai 1923 - Philanthropic Initiative



Devidas Purbhoodas Kothari Pyaav


                               

Pyaav or public drinking water fountains are a unique architectural expression that form a part of the socio-cultural heritage of the city of Mumbai. Installed during the late 19th and 20th century, they showcase distinct philanthropic initiatives in form of water charity.

 
This pyaav was built in 1923 by Shri. Devidas Purbhoodas Kothari in loving memory of his late daughter Leelavati Tribhuvandas.

                                                     

This pyaav situated at the cross roads of Walchand Hirachand Marg (formerly Fort Street) and Mint Road,

Alappuzha attractions



Alappuzha (or Alleppey) is a city in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's best known for houseboat cruises along the Kerala backwaters.


Alappuzha Beach - is a beach in Alappuzha town. 


 The beach has an old pier which extend to sea which is over 150 years old.



Alappuzha lighthouse - was built in 1862. 


 It was painted plain white and in 2000 was repainted in red and white bands.


The 30' high lighthouse has a teak spiral staircase.



Vijay Beach Park - located in alappuzha near the alappuzha beach. 

                              
 
Its a Children Park for kids to play and even ride a toy train.


                                    

Children also can enjoy the rented boat and bike ride.


Revi Karuna Karan Memorial Museum - in Alappuzha district is dedicated to Revi Karunakaran.


The museum showcases a private family collection, with a diverse array of religious artwork and collection of classic works of art.

Ambreshwar Shiva Temple



The Ambreshwar Shiva Temple is a historic 11th-century Hindu temple, still in use, at Ambarnath near Mumbai, in Maharashtra, India. It is also known as the Shiv Mandir, Ambarnath.




It is situated on the bank of Vadavan (Waldhuni) river, 2 km away from Ambarnath (East) railway station. 












The temple was built in 1060 AD in the Hemadpanti style, beautifully carved in stone. 




The word Ambarnath refers to ‘Lord of the sky’.

St. Thomas Cathedral; Mumbai.


 
St. Thomas Church is the first Anglican Church in Mumbai and was opened for divine service on Christmas Day in 1718.



It was named after St. Thomas, who was one of the 12 Disciples of Christ and was the apostle to India.




The church was consecrated as a cathedral in July 1837 concurrent with the appointment of the first Bishop of Bombay, Thomas Carr.


The church is considered ‘point zero’ of the city, from where the city was measured in milestones also the name of nearby Churchgate station refers to this church.
