Devidas Purbhoodas Kothari Pyaav
Pyaav or public drinking water fountains are a
unique architectural expression that form a part of the socio-cultural heritage
of the city of Mumbai. Installed during the late 19th and 20th
century, they showcase distinct philanthropic initiatives in form of water charity.
This pyaav was built in 1923 by Shri. Devidas Purbhoodas Kothari in loving memory of his late daughter Leelavati Tribhuvandas.
This pyaav situated at the cross roads of Walchand Hirachand Marg (formerly
Fort Street) and Mint Road,
